The Courteeners are an English band formed in Manchester, in 2006. The band's debut single, "Cavorting" was released on August 6th 2007 by Loog Records. The single sold out immediately, with all available copies pre-ordered. In October 2007 they supported The Coral, on their UK tour. Their first headline tour in December 2007 was a complete sell out. Their debut album, St Jude was released in April 2008 making Number 4 in the UK Album Chart. The Courteeners will be performing two shows to celebrate New Year's Eve 08/09 in Leeds and Sheffield. Starting in Leeds at 22:30pm, the band will play a headline set before heading over to Sheffield Academy for another headline show arriving on stage around 00:30am.
